Elspeth Moncrieff

Curriculum Vitae
Elspeth Moncrieff gained an MA in History of Art at Edinburgh University and a further MA in the Conservation of Easel Paintings at Newcastle University.

She worked as a curator at the Tate Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum in the Exhibitions Departments before becoming an arts journalist.

From 1987-1999 she was Deputy Editor of the Antique Collector and from 1990-1992 Deputy Editor of Apollo. From 1996-2004 she worked as the Art Market Correspondent for the Art Newspaper reviewing the salerooms and commercial galleries. She is currently Editor of the Sydney based academic publication the World of Antiques and Art.

She set up the Moncrieff-Bray gallery near Petworth in 2005. Following near sell out shows by Oona Campbell, David Humphreys and Tim Kent in 2007 an exciting programme of exhibitions of both painting and sculpture is planned for 2008.
